Ali Elsayed is the rising nasheed singer from the USA. He achieved success with his international hit album Light Upon Light, a one of a kind mix of traditional classical salawat and captivating melodies. This groundbreaking album is sure to satisfy both traditional salawat fans and modern nasheed lovers. Born in 1971 in a small village in Bekaa valley Lebanon, Ali grew up listing to and reciting folkloric Lebanese cultural and Islamic songs. He emmigrated to the United States in 1990 with his whole family to escape the civil war in Lebanon.
After college Ali worked for the family business, until he met his Sufi teacher Shaykh Hisham Kabbani in the year 2000, who is the deputy & son in law of Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani (the leader of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order). Shaykh Kabbani took him from understanding his religion intellectually to tasting the sweetness of faith, and he planted the seed of love in his heart for the beloved prophet Muhammad (SAW). After that Ali moved to Michigan to be close to his Shaykh. He lives there with his wife and two kids. |
