7th was undoubtedly the longest and most difficult day of my whole life.
When I first heard the news that a terrible event had taken place on the
London Underground. I can remember feeling very angry that the city I live
in and love had been bombed. I’m sure I was not alone amongst London’s
7million inhabitants in responding emotionally as if I had been personally
attacked . . . .

How did you get into this career?
I was working in the Immigration Detention Centre at Manchester Airport and just sent off a letter to the prison enquiring if there were any jobs available. I was invited for an interview and got a job, here at Styal Women’s Prison, eight years ago. |
